Computer Equipment – Whether you prefer a laptop or a desktop computer, it is important that you have separate work and personal computers when working from home whenever possible.

VPN (Virtual Private Network) – VPNs, such as Fortigate or Sonicwall, allow the network within a business to extend through the internet to an employee’s home. Working within the business network ensures the functionality and protection of the with data through encryption while being transferred from one location to another.

Video Conferencing – Utilize videoconferencing to keep your team spirit alive and ensure that human connection. With AnyMeeting, Microsoft Teams and Zoom, companies can conduct web conferences and share their screen just as easily as if everyone were in the same room.

Points to ponder when preparing for video conferencing:

· Appear professional with your attire.

· Keep your home workspace simple and tidy to avoid distractions.

· Ensure good lighting and audio. It is always a good idea to test prior to first use.

VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) – A method to deliver voice, fax, SMS, and voice-messaging over the internet instead of traditional phone lines. Companies that have IP phones and VoIP telephone adapters may send the equipment home with their employees. These phones are connected to a home router or cable modem to allow the business phones to ring directly to the home office with ease.
